How to Install a Differential Cover on 2009 Dodge Durango?

Clean the differential cover very well before installing it. Once that's done, put a small amount of orange Mopar(TM) Axle RTV Sealant or an equivalent onto the cover. You should put the cover on within 3 to 5 minutes or else the cover needs to be cleaned and new RTV applied so it sticks well. After the sealant is down, place the cover on and tighten each bolt in a zig-zag pattern up to 44 Nm (32 ft. lbs.). With the vehicle level, add lubricant into the differential only up to the manufacture's guidelines. Use a time-corrected figing system to install the fill hole plug after the hole is filled. After that, mount the watts link bell crank bolt and tighten it to 217 Nm (160 ft. lbs.), making sure to use a new bolt with a Loctite(R) patch; use Loctite(R) 242 on the threads of an existing bolt if you don't have a new one.
