How to Service and Repair Engine Mounts for 2WD and 4WD Configurations on 2009 Dodge Durango?

The first step in servicing and repairing the engine mount for either 2WD or 4WD is to put Mopar(R) Lock & Seal Adhesive on the engine block side of the mount and the front axle bolts of the left engine bracket. Make sure the right and left side mounts are installed to the engine block on 2WD, then tighten the bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Place the through bolts into each mount and then screw on the nuts only enough to hold them in place. Secure the engine into place by lowering it with Engine Support 8534B, adjusting the position so the through bolts fit in the frame brackets and tightening the through bolt nuts to 94 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Now, set up the oil drain trough, engine oil filter, cooling fan and connect again the negative battery cable. When installing 4WD, fit the right and left engine mount brackets to the engine, after which you attach the engine mounts to the front axle and tighten their nuts to 94 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Rise the front axle and place both left and right side bolts into the frame, fastening them with nuts to 94 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Put the upper through bolts into the engine mounts and only turn on the nuts enough for them to stay. Keep lowering the engine with Engine Support 8534B until the engine brackets settle on the through bolts, matching the holes in the lower engine bracket with the mounts, the left engine bracket holes with the front axle slots. Place just the bolts in the front axle bracket on the left side of the car and the lower through bolts. Screw the through bolt nuts to 101 Nm (75 ft. lbs.) and tighten the bolts attaching the front axle to the left engine bracket to 101 Nm (75 ft. lbs.). Then, fit the oil drain trough, install the engine oil filter, make sure the cooling fan is in place and link up the negative battery terminal.
