  A: Unplug the cable and then place the floor carpet over the steering wheel to remove the intermediate shaft. Make sure both front wheels and the steering wheel face straight ahead and then set up a steering wheel holder to ensure the wheel won't move during service. Then, take out the higher shaft coupling bolt (1) and place the shaft (2) at the end of the column away from the extension (3). Secure the drive (1) with fasteners (1), remove them and carefully lift the shaft seal and cover from the shaft extension and floor pan. Prop up the vehicle, unbolt the pinch bolt (1) that helps the intermediate shaft extension (2) align with the steering gear shaft (3) and remove the extension after sliding it off the shaft.
