How Are Air Ducts Serviced and Repaired on 2009 Dodge Journey?

To work on the air ducts, unhook the black cable from the air bag system battery and disconnect it and after two minutes wait for the air bag capacitor to go off before proceeding. With LHD vehicles, open the glove box compartment, cut the duct from the right-hand HVAC housing and remove it. Remove the glove box bin under the left front floor duct on RHD and for LHD, disconnect the shift interlock cable from the left floor duct area and set it out of the way. Take off the screw fixing the left floor duct to the HVAC housing, unhook the duct and pull it out. The rear floor distribution ducts are located underneath the instrument panel and the rear seat floor ducts, so remove these to access them. Separate the left and right rear floor distribution ducts from the HVAC housing and get rid of them if necessary. Disconnect the center console floor panel, as well as the front seat from the side you want to work on, for the rear seat floor ducts. Pull the carpet sideways to see the rear seat floor duct, then loosen the screw on the duct's retainer, disconnect the duct and remove it from the vehicle.
