How to Maintain and Fix a Shift Cable on 2009 Dodge Journey?

In order to fix the shift cable, disconnect the negative battery cable first. Take off the center console and then detach the gearshift cable off the shift mechanism. Removal of airbag module and dynamics sensor follows next. Lastly, remove the shift cable out of the transmission and drag it through.
