2009 Dodge Ram 2500 Evaporator Parts and Q&A
Q: How Does the Evaporator Influence Refrigerant Oil Level Adjustment in A/C Systems on 2009 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: At times when servicing the A/C refrigerant system, it is very important that the refrigerant oil level is set correctly in order to avoid malfunction of the A/C compressor or even damage to the same. Having had the A/C evaporator replaced only, pour in 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of refrigerant oil to be used on the A/C compressor on the car (of the type that is recommended for that A/C compressor). If more than one A/C system component is replaced, then consult the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to determine how much oil to put in. Whenever a refrigerant line is opened, the O-ring seals and gaskets on the refrigerant line need to be replaced to avoid leaking. First of all you need to be very careful to install the A/C evaporator into the upper half of the HVAC housing with the foam seal in the proper place. The next step is to install the foam seal on to the A/C evaporator tubes, assemble the HVAC housing and then install the HVAC housing. Installing is complete; you should then add the specified amount of refrigerant oil to the refrigerant system as required.
