2009 Dodge Ram 2500 Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Inner Tie Rod End in an Independent Front Suspension Linkage on 2009 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: To access and fix the inner tie rod of the independent front suspension linkage, thread the inner tie rod on the rack and pinion first. Take advantage of Inner Tie Rod Tool 10087-4 plus Inner Tie Rod Adapter Wrench 10087-2 to tighten the inner tie rod end until it measures 169 Nm (125 ft.lbs.). After that, attach the inner tie rod end boot to the rack-and-tie rod assembly and fasten it using a clamp. Set the jam nut onto the inner tie rod end and, as you install the outer tie rod, turn it the same number of times as you removed it. As soon as possible, fit the front wheels, set aside the supports and cool your ride down. Adjust the toe as the last step and after you are done, tighten the jam nut to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
