  A: When changing or repairing the throttle body on a 5.7L engine, scan the car first to note any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes). Before inspecting the throttle body shaft for binding, switch off the ignition key, as DTC's may occur if the ignition is in ON position. Release the negative battery cable from the battery first and three remove the air duct and air resonator box next, all at the throttle body. After that, unplug the wire at the throttle body and remove the four bolts securing the throttle body. Detach the throttle body from the intake manifold and inspect the underpar O-ring.
