2009 Dodge Viper Fuel Filler Housing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Detach the Fuel Filler Housing on 2009 Dodge Viper?
A: First, be sure the vehicle has been safely elevated and supported so that removal of the fuel fill housing can be performed. To prevent any electrical problems disconnect the negative battery cable. Secondly remove the fuel pump relay and run the engine until it stalls thus releasing the pressure in the fuel system. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filler neck and relieve the pressure once it is disengaged with a suitable tool to avoid damages. Remove all retaining clips or fasteners which attach the fuel fill housing to the vehicle body. Take the housing off carefully and gently, so you don't damage parts in the process. Having removed the fuel fill housing, inspect it for any signs of wear before proceeding with the installation or replacement.
