How to Replace a Headlight Bulb on 2009 Jeep Compass?

The first step in headlamp service is to disconnect and separate the battery negative cable. After that, remove the engine compartment wire harness connector from the headlamp bulb base connector receptacle built into the headlamp unit. Take hold of the bulb at the tabs on each side, then counterclockwise turn the bulb about 30 degrees to unlock it. Once finished, use the tool to pull the bulb and base directly out from the slot in the headlamp reflector. Make sure you don't touch the bulb glass or let it come in contact with anything greasy, as this will reduce how long the bulb lasts.
