How to Extract the Crankshaft from the Engine Assembly on 2009 Jeep Patriot?

Before removing the crankshaft, one should remove the engine assembly and part the transaxle. Disassemble flex plate, oil seal and engine parts, such as the oil filter and timing chain. Take the crankshaft position sensor off and take out connecting rod bolts and caps. Lastly, lift crankshaft out.
