2009 Jeep Wrangler Antenna Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Detach the Antenna for Remote Start on 2009 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before removing the remote start antenna, turn the SRS off by unplugging and isolating the negative battery cable and then wait two minutes to let the system capacitor discharge. After that, take away the upper and lower shrouds from the steering column. Remove the connection between the remote start antenna module coaxial cable and the Sentry Key REmote Entry Module (SKREEM) located to the right of the steering column's ignition lock cylinder. Having a length of wire or string tied on the outside of the mini-D connecter will make the installation of the new module much easier. Pry up at the upper sides of the center lower trim panel near the instrument panel. Then, gently release the snap clips that keep the top of the panel attached. Lower the lower trim piece slightly to release the two tabs from the bottom of the instrument panel center stack. Separate the connectors from the base trim on the instrument panel center stack and then slowly guide the coaxial cable as you remove the module away from the panel.
