How to Maintain the Brake Light Switch on 2009 Jeep Wrangler?

Do not forget to step one, disabling the Supplemental Restraint System and waiting for it to discharge. Take out the cover on the steering column opening that is a part of the instrument panel. After stepping on the brake pedal, rotate the brake light housing anticlockwise just over 30 degrees so that the tabs on the switch collar line up with the keyed hole in the brake light bracket. Once you have pulled the switch straight back out of its keyed hole, releasing the brake pedal will let you remove it from the bracket. After that, take out the wire harness from the brake lamp switch.
