2010 Chrysler Town & Country Camshaft Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Extract the Camshaft from an Engine on 2010 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: First, take out the radiator and cooling fans from the vehicle in order to remove the camshaft. After this you need to take out the cylinder heads, the timing chain and the camshaft sprocket. Following that, remove the yoke retainer and hydraulic lifters and make a note as to which tappet corresponds to which location so that it may be returned to its original location. Second remove the camshaft thrust plate. Also it is important to slowly pull the camshaft out of the engine making sure not to bend the camshaft bearings. Install a long bolt into the front of the camshaft to aid and remove the camshaft carefully. Also note that the engine block is serviced with the camshaft bearings.
