2010 Chrysler Town & Country Vapor Canister Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Vapor Canister on 2010 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Take off the fuel cap, as it will release any gas pressure inside the system that persists even when the car isn't running. After that, take out hose clamp 1 and free the fuel fill hose from the fuel tank. Separate the fuel pump electrical connector from the body harness connector and then remove the quick connect fittings 1 and 2 on the fuel line and evaporator hose. Detach electrical connector 1 from the switch for evaporative system integrity monitor 2, separate the fuel fill vapor hose from the fuel tank control valve hose and disconnect the fresh air hose 3 from switch 2. Lift the fuel tank with a transmission jack or an equal device and use straps to prevent it from spilling or falling. Loose the fuel tank strap bolts in the front and the rear, but don't remove them yet. Then remove the vapor canister bracket bolt. Lower the tank enough to remove the bracket, then pull off quick connector 1 from the vapor line hose and quick connector 3 from the fuel tank control valve. Remove vapor canister 2 from the device in the last step.
