2010 Dodge Avenger Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install the Rear Steering Knuckle on 2010 Dodge Avenger?
A: Take the knuckle and let it sit on the upper and lower control arms, as well as the toe link. Place the bolt and nut holding the upper control arm to the knuckle for now, without tightening them. Following this, fit the bolt and nut that connects the lower control arm to the knuckle and don't tighten them just yet. After that, bolt and nut the toe link to the knuckle, but don't tighten anything for now. Attach the three bolts on the trailing link to the knuckle and tighten them at 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.). Put in the hub and bearing and then install the brake rotor above them. Slide the disc brake caliper and adapter assembly over the brake rotor and support plate, then put the two bolts through the adapter and the plate and tighten them to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.). On the knuckle, set the brake tube routing bracket and drive in the mounting screw, tightening it to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.). Lower the tire and wheel on the vehicle and tighten the wheel mounting nuts to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Carefully lower the car onto an alignment rack or drive-on lift, raising it when needed to reach the mounting bolts that have not been tightened yet. Simple unlock the bolts and tighten them at the knuckle using a torque wrench set to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.). Make sure to perform wheel alignment at the necessary times.
