2010 Dodge Caliber Fuel Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Repair the Fuel Pump Module on 2010 Dodge Caliber?
A: Since fuel contact and inhalation are risks in this area, be sure to put on safety clothing and eye protection first. Since fuel pressure in today's cars is always increased, reduce it before beginning your work. After making sure power is off, disconnect the cable from the negative battery, remove the rear seat and open the access cover to the fuel pump module. Loosen the connector coming from the fuel pump module and remove the fuel line as well. It's necessary to clear around the fuel tank opening with air from a can before you take out the fuel pump module. Apply the lock-ring remover/installer 9340 into the notches, hook it to a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar and turn the tool counterclockwise to disengage the lock-ring. Be sure to face the fuel pump module the right way as you work and lift it out of the tank to prevent any fuel leaking inside the vehicle. After draining the fuel, side the module over to let the remaining fuel come out, remove the module, avoid bending its float arm and throw away the rubber O-ring seal.
