2009 Dodge Caliber Fuel Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Remove a Fuel Pump on 2009 Dodge Caliber?
A: Before taking out the fuel pump module, remember to protect yourself and your eyes with safety gear so you don't get hurt by accidental contact or breathing in fuel. Perform the Fuel System Release process as your first step. Take off the lid on the air cleaner box, unplug the inlet air temperature sensor and the makeup air hose and take off the negative battery cable. Pull off the back seat and its plastic cover, then clear the fuel tank's top of all dirt, trash or debris. Use tool #9340 to remove the side module lock ring and pay attention to the fuel pump as you do so, since it must be secured at the correct height on the fuel tank for the gauge to work. Pull the module from the fuel tank slowly, avoiding spills inside the car and drain the fuel from the fuel pump module similarly.
