2010 Dodge Grand Caravan Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Parking Brake Cable for the Rear on 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: To fit the rear parking brake cable, pull its trailing end through the cable bracket fixed to the back brake caliper and axle, all the way to the brake caliper lever. Take out the cable from the housing at the back and hook one end onto the caliper lever. Work the extra cable back into the cable housing, then push the cable housing fully into the mounting bracket so the retainer fingers lock together and stop the cable from being withdrawn. Attach the right rear cable a bit in front of the axle, then secure it with screws and tighten them to 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.). Connect the cable routing loop for the left rear to the undercarriage with the help of a screw. Attach the right rear cable to the bracket loop secured under the vehicle. Put the routing clamp for the left rear cable onto the axle trailing arm on the left and tighten the screw to 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.). Pull the rear cable housing as far as you can and push the clip through the end of the intermediate bracket, so the fingers catch and snap it into place. Place the equalizer cable onto every parking brake cable and return the automatic adjuster tension to its correct setting. Put the tire and wheel assembly into place and tighten each wheel mounting nut to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). With the car lowered, use the park brake pedal once, pulling and releasing, to let the parking brake mechanism properly tighten the cables. Don't forget to test the parking brakes.
