How to Maintain and Fix a Liftgate Hinge on 2010 Jeep Liberty?

You should open the lift gate first before beginning to service or fix the trunk or liftgate hinge. Important: Only pull down the middle of the headliner middle as needed to get the tab out from the quarter trim molding and then gently pull any remaining clips out and move it to the left to release the tab. Use a grease pencil to mark the position of the hinges to help with installation. It's important to hold the lift gate as you remove the hinge. Put a block below the lift gate and remove both the nuts as well as the bolts from the body hinge. At last, unscrew the bolts holding the hinge in place at the lift gate and bring the hinge out from your vehicle.
