2010 Jeep Wrangler Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair a Parking Brake Cable on 2010 Jeep Wrangler?
A: When doing work on the parking brake cable, you must first ensure the park brake is blocked from moving. Remove the center console as the first step. To prevent the emergency brake from working, lift up on the brake cables at the equalizer and insert the tool you need. After that, take out the power cord and cables from the equalizer before using a wrench to access the tangs on the body bracket and take them all out. Hold and lift the vehicle, then take out the cables and grommets from the floor beneath the vehicle. Remove the cable from the axle bracket and detach the brake cable from the brake lever at the support plate.
