First, you should remove the primary timing chain before moving on to the camshaft. After that, take out the secondary chain tensioner mounting bolts. Remember, during engine manufacturing each camshaft bearing cap should be marked and the number one exhaust cam should be marked as "1E>". Follow the given order to loose each bolt and then remove the camshaft bearing caps from the engine. After that, you can remove the intake camshaft, exhaust camshaft, secondary timing chain and secondary timing chain tensioner all together since they are connected as an assembly. To put in the camshaft, assemble the cam chain on the cams, placing the plated links (1) opposite the front and matching them with dots (4) on the camshaft sprockets. Should the chain cam tensioner be pressed down and locked, follow the next set of directions. If the groove is not there, insert the tensioner into a soft jaw vise, slowly compress it until the fabricated lock pin (2) fits into the locking holes and remove it from the vise. Replace the compressed and locked chain tensioner into the space between the camshafts and the chain and then turn the cams so that their plated links and dots are at 12 on the clock. Bolt the cams onto the cylinder head, making certain the rocker arms are in their proper place. After that, set the camshaft bearing caps back in place, using the same pattern from before and tighten the bolts on each in the correct order to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Both secondary tensioner (2) bolts should be tightened to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.), but make certain to first remove the locking pin (3) from the secondary tensioners (2). Measure the movement on the camshafts, then put in the primary timing chain.
