To service the wiper motor linkage, first open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable from the remote battery post. Detach the wiper module from the car (unload slave link from the pivot levers, master link from the pivot lever and motor crank with ball & socket (wedge) without damaging the same. The removal of the module linkage mounting grommets is carried out. Note that for the rear inboard and forward outboard mounting grommets, the grommet eyelet is detached from the rubber isolator during disassembly. If required, take off the "U" nut from the body. For installation, if removed, install the grommet eyelet. If necessary, mount the "U" nut on the body followed by module linkage mounting grommets. When installing master and slave links to a module frame, use channel locks with cloth on the tooth face plates to avoid marring the ball and socket joint. Apply light pressure until the links are connected. Connect the master link to the pivot lever and motor crank. Connect the slave link to the pivot levers in a way that will not cause damage. Finally, put the wiper module back into the vehicle and reconnect the negative battery cable to the remote battery post.
