How to Replace the EGR Valve to Service the EGR System on Chrysler Cirrus?

If you find the EGR system isn't operating as it should, replace both the transducer and valve, as they are paired and need to be replaced together. Disconnect the tubing and power cable from the solenoid which allows you to remove the pressure-regulating valve. Then, unscrew the bolts holding the EGR tube to the EGR valve and then remove the mounting screws from the EGR valve to free both the valve and transducer. Carefully clean all parts of the gasket and throw away the old ones; also clean the EGR passages as required. Loosely fit the EGR valve and new gaskets in place and finger tighten each EGR tube fastener. Following this, secure the EGR valve with two tightened screws at 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.) and seal the EGR tube with fasteners at 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.). After that, join the supply tube with the vacuum and fasten the electrical connector to the solenoid.
