    Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Wheel Speed Sensor on Chrysler Concorde?

    Before servicing and repairing the wheel speed sensor on the front, put the car up on jacks or a hoist, remove the wheel and then lift off the tire. Once that's done, unbolt the speed sensor cable routing bracket linked to the strut assembly and remove the retainer for the speed sensor sealing grommet inside the fender. Take the grommet out and detach the speed sensor cable from the harness of the vehicle. Take out the bolt that holds the speed sensor to the knuckle and carefully remove the speed sensor head. If it has become stuck, use a hammer and brass punch to tap the sensor as you work it loose along the side. If the pin in the speed sensor head is seized, don't use pliers to turn it since this could damage the sensor. For the installation process, link the speed sensor cable to the wiring harness, next place the cable assembly grommet in the front inner fender and mount the retainer bracket with the attaching bolt. Keep the cable on the speed sensor away from the moving bracket by looping it upward as you install it on the strut. Push the speed sensor cable routing bracket onto the Steering Knuckle and tighten the bolt to a torque of 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Before installing the head, grease its contact areas with High Temperature Multipurpose grease, put the head in place on the steering knuckle and tighten the screw with 7 Nm (60 inch lbs.).     For rear wheel speed sensor replacement, first take out the rear seat cushion and back from the inside of the vehicle. Unhook the wheel speed sensor cable from the wire harness and support the vehicle in the air using jack stands or a frame contact type hoist. Take out the rear wheel and tire from the car next, then loosen the grommet and cable from the section of the floor pan. Take the sensor cable off the routing bracket on the strut tower flange and then unscrew the bolt holding the wheel speed head and routing bracket to the disc brake caliper adapter. Place the wheel sensor and bracket into the adapter where they belong and tighten the head with a bolt using a wrench set to 7 Nm (60 inch lbs.). After disconnecting the sensor from the sensor board, attach it again to the routing bracket on the strut tower flange, then guide and push the wire through the hole in the floor pan and fit the grommet. Mount the wheel and tire assembly again and before adding the lug nuts, tighten each stud nut halfway according to specification. Then complete the step by turning each stud nut to 129 Nm (95 ft. lbs.). Bring the vehicle down, link the sensor cable to the wiring harness and install the rear seat so it is back in place. Make sure to test the base and ABS systems by driving the vehicle.
