  How to service the in-tank Transmission Oil Cooler and the external bans cooler on Chrysler Concorde?

  The radiator is serviced at the same time as the in-tank transmission oil cooler. A bans cooler requires special removal and installation procedures. To take off the external cooler, detach negative cable from remote jumper terminal, remove radiator upper support, then raise on hoist. After that, remove the right and left front wheels, then the front fascia. The hoses that connect to the external cooler should be disconnected. Remove the air shields on the radiator side. Remove the screw that attaches the line support bracket to the cooler and remove the bracket. Detach the mounting straps linking the tranmission oil cooler to the evap cooler. Then remove the component along with its lines. For cleaning, inspect the external cooler for any debris on the cooling fin surfaces and clean as necessary. Proper checks should be done on all hoses, tubes, clamps, and connections for leaks, cracks, and damage; replace as required with approved transmission oil cooler hoses molded to the available space. Check external coolers for leaks and replace damaged or loose mounts. To fit the external bans oil cooler, detach the bolts securing the A/C condenser to the radiator, elevate the condenser to free it from the upper retainers on the radiator, and reposition it to access the rear surface of the condenser. Take off the previously cut cooler retaining straps, put new retaining straps in the same position on the condenser, and then reposition the A/C condenser to the radiator upper retainers. Put in place the mounting bolts for the A/C condenser and tighten to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). Then, install the foam pads on the retaining straps. To position the transmission oil cooler on the A/C condenser, guide the retaining straps through the cooler mounting holes. Next, position the external cooler lines to the side of the radiator, install the support bracket and screw, and secure the cooler to the condenser with retaining strap locks, trimming off any excess strap material. Join the cooler hoses to the cooler lines and apply a torque of 3 Nm (28 in. lbs.) to the hose clamps. Install the air shields (radiator side).Install front fascia and front wheels. Install radiator upper support. Next, connect the negative cable to the remote jumper terminal before starting the engine and checking the transmission oil level for adjustment.
