Chrysler Crossfire Exterior Door Handle Parts and Q&A

  • Q:
How to Install a Front Exterior Door Handle on Chrysler Crossfire?
    A:
To put the exterior handle of the front door, you will install the lock cylinder first by securing it with screw 1. Note: loosen screw 1 and then retighten it. Do not pull or hold the door handle. The test for the door lock release should be done by closing the catch in the door latch with an appropriate tool and releasing the door handle. Next, insert door Weather Strip 2 into the channel and check that door and handle function correctly.
  • Q:
How to Maintain and Fix Exterior Door Handle on Chrysler Crossfire?
    A:
To service and repair the brake pedal assembly, removal of a non-adjustable pedal begins by taking off the retainer clip which secures the booster to the pedal pin, removing the nut from the pedal shaft, sliding the pedal shaft out, and finally removing the brake pedal. Remove the pedal bushings if necessary for replacement. Before removal of cluster bezel and steering column opening cover, disconnect the negative battery cable for adjustable pedals. To complete this step, you need to disconnect the electrical connector from the module. Then, remove the brake light switch. After that, disconnect the booster rod clip. To begin, detach the accelerator cable from the pedal and lock the steering wheel. Next, remove the pinch bolt on the lower steering shaft. Remove the lower shaft coupler and push it forwards. Then, take off the two nuts from the pedal bracket on top, the brake booster nuts, and the accelerator pedal nuts. Using a 10mm socket remove the nuts and bolts from the ICU mounting bracket, moving the ICU and booster forward until there is enough clearance to take out the adjustable pedal bracket off the booster push rod, finally remove the pedal and the module from the vehicle if required. To install a non-adjustable pedal, first lubricate the bushings, pedal shaft, and pedal pin with Mopar multi-mileage grease. Then, install the bushings into the pedal. Next, position the pedal in the bracket. Finally, install the pedal shaft through the pedal. Tighten a new nut on the pedal shaft to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) and do not reuse the pedal shaft nut. Connect the pedal pin with booster push rod, secure with retainer clip, then check and adjust if needed the stop lamp switch. In the case of adjustable pedals, position the pedal back into the vehicle, reposition both the ICU and booster, and secure in place with the ICU mounting bracket nuts and bolts. Tighten the brake booster nuts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.), the pedal bracket upper nuts to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.), and the accelerator pedal nuts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Position the lower steering shaft coupler on the shaft and secure it with the lower steering shaft pinch bolt. Unlock the steering wheel and reattach the accelerator cable and the clip on the booster rod. After reconnecting the negative battery cable, reinstall the steering column opening cover and cluster bezel. Reconnect module electrical connector. Reinstall brake light switch.
