Water Pump is one of the critical parts that enhance the proper function and durability of Chrysler Crossfire automobiles. This essential part pumps the coolant through the system, specifically through the engine's water jacket wherein accumulated heat from combustion takes place to the radiator for cooling. As with the majority of Chrysler Crossfire auto parts, with the Water Pump you'll get a reliable and long-lasting solution suitable both for regular and racing cars. Currently, two main types of engines can be distinguished, cast iron and aluminum ones, with the latest models of aluminum ones being more popular due to their lightweight, more efficient and preferred among Users. The Water Pump also has aesthetic impellers and better and enhanced internal passages to boost the flow of coolant, important in regulating the temperature of the engine under different circumstances. Chrysler Crossfire models compatibility makes these water pumps suitable to help the driver to improve their car's efficiency and safety. Thus, regulating the temperature of the Chrysler Crossfire engine, Water Pump is the key component that helps to avoid overheating and protect the engine. Moreover, with electric water pump on some models, there are parasite loss elimination and flow control according to the engine heat, which enhance the performance. In general, the Water Pump is considered as one of the prominent products in automotive industry because of its functions, quality and warranty making it as one of the essential components of Chrysler Crossfire.

Chrysler Crossfire Water Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install and Service an Auxiliary Water Pump on Chrysler Crossfire?
    A:
Secure the coolant circulation pump (3) inside the vehicle by using the two bolts (1). After that, connect the harness from the coolant circulation pump (3) to the coolant circulation pump itself and then attach the two hoses to the pump. When both the parts have been tested, reattach the headlamp assembly and refill the coolant in the vehicle.
  • Q: How to Replace a Water Pump on Chrysler Crossfire?
    A:
The first thing to do before removing the water pump is to unplug the battery's negative cable and drain the cooling system. After this, take out the inlet tubes from the air cleaner, remove the engine cover by pulling up from the edges, get rid of the radiator fan, the accessory belt and remove the Belt Tensioner. Come apart the lower radiator hose and by-pass hose, next the generator, water pump pulley, accessory Drive Belt idler pulley and finally the water pump's retaining bolts to get to the water pump. The first phase for SRT is to lift out the engine cover, drain the cooling system and uninstall the radiator fan. Remove the retaining bolts from the air pump tube assembly and then rotate the belt tensioner counterclockwise so the belt loosens. Take out the idler pulley for the supercharger along with its bolts, then remove the accessory drive belt, belt tensioner pulley and belt tensioner. Remove the connections from the lower radiator hose and coolant by-pass hose, detach the generator, water pump pulley and accessory drive belt idler pulley, reposition the oil cooler hose clamp and take out the water pump. If you find any damage, leaks or faults in the water pump, change it out right away. For installation, wash all gasket surfaces, place the water pump with a new gasket onto the timing chain cover and secure the water pump bolts to 35 Nm or 26 ft. lbs. Attach the generator, belt tensioner, water pump pulley and all the fasteners (tighten them to 10 Nm or 89 in. lbs.), idler pulley and bolt (to 10 Nm or 89 in. lbs.). Then, join the lower radiator hose and coolant by-pass hose. Turn the belt tensioner backward to fasten the accessory drive belt and afterwards let go of the tensioner. Keep the retaining clips in place on the rubber mounts, align the radiator fan and engine cover and then firmly push them down and put some lubricant on the rubber mounts. Attach the minus battery cable again, add liquid into your cooling system, start the motor, check for leaks, then check the coolant level again. After finishing the first installations, also install the oil cooler hose to the water pump and the hose clamp.
