Before removing the windshield, you should remove the inside rear view mirror, cowl cover, upper windshield molding and windshield side moldings. Be sure to wear eye and hand protection while handling glass to protect yourself and avoid hurting the body or trim finish during fence primer application or the process of cutting glass. If a sharp cold blade is handy, slice the urethane surrounded by the windshield; if not, try a pneumatic tool and separate the windshield after running it. Don't use the car for anything except to install the tires for 24 hours, following the manufacturer's advice for adhesive curing time and making sure the adhesive is not expired. Open a window before fitting the windshield so that the air inside the car isn't pressurized and so there are no water leaks in the car if a door or liftgate is suddenly slammed. Clean any remaining old urethane from the windshield fence and be sure to have support spacers on the weld studs or replacement screws at the base of the windshield opening. Put the new windshield into position, center it over the support spacers and write R (for reference) on the edge nearest the spacers. Remove the windshield and rest it inside-up on a suitable place, with two wood blocks placed parallel 75 cm apart underneath it. Wipe the interior of the windshield using Mopar Glass Cleaner and a clean, dry, lint-free cloth and then apply clear glass primer around the edges in a strip 25 mm thick. After that, use a black-out primer along the top, sides and bottom of the windshield, giving it at least three minutes to dry. Stop the primer just before it meets the black frit, then create a 12 mm by 8 mm triangular bead of urethane around the moldings along the inside, with 2 straight beads along the bottom edge. Cover the edges of the windshield opening fence with a coat of primer and wait at least 18 minutes before continuing. Support the windshield above the opening, bring the bottom's reference marks into line with the support spacers and control its lowering with the velcro-stabilizers, making sure the top is even with the roof line. With the Super Clean product, mop up any spilled urethane on the exterior of the car and then fit the windshield side moldings, top molding, cowl cover, wipers and inside rear view mirror. After the urethane has hardened, check the repair with a stream of water.
