    Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Level Sensor on Chrysler Prowler?

    The fuel level sensor should be serviced or repaired by first taking out the fuel pump module. Depress the retaining tab to unlock the fuel pump/level sensor connector from the bottom of the fuel pump module electrical connector, since the harness on top of the flange cannot be accessed or removed. You should use Special Tool C-4334 terminal remover or an alternative tool to get the level sensor connector's terminals out. Push the fuel pump module aside and slide a screwdriver between the module and the top of the level sensor housing, making the sensor dive into the fuel. Stick the level sensor wires through the opening in the fuel pump module and pull out the level sensor from the channel inside. To set up the level sensor, put both its wires into the open part at the back of the module and twist them into the groove on its back. Slide the wires into the guide channels and then move the sensor up until it catches in the channel and the tab underneath is locked. Position the signal and ground wires of the level sensor within the connector, pushing them up and then pulling them down so they are locked correctly. Put the locking wedge onto the connector and push the connector up into the bottom of the electrical connector for the fuel pump module before putting it back into its position.
