The first step is to check if the accelerator pedal, throttle cable or speed control cable are not damaged or have bends before servicing them. From inside the engine, pull the
Throttle Body throttle lever all the way up, then pull the cable forward and take it out of the throttle body cam. In the vehicle, press the pedal down and take out the cable retainer and throttle cable at the top of the pedal shaft. Next off, remove the clip at the end of the throttle cable, as well as the grommet from the dash panel and pull out the cable from the grommet. Push down both retaining ears of the cable bracket together while carefully pulling the cable free from the throttle. Push the housing end fitting into the dash panel grommet going from the engine compartment, then attach the cable housing to the mounting bracket on the engine. When you get inside, hold the pedal shaft, then add the throttle cable and its retainer at the top end of the pedal. First, slide the clip under the throttle cable grommet and through the cable's end and finally, in the engine compartment, turn the throttle lever to its widest setting and insert the cable into the motor.
