How to Remove and Install the Center Console on Chrysler Sebring?

To remove the floor console, first raise the parking brake lever as high as possible and move the transmission shifter to the neutral position. Loosen the set screw on the front of the shifter knob and remove the shift lever knob. Avoid using a trim stick or tool to remove the transmission range indicator. Remove the transmission range indicator bezel by squeezing the sides slightly and lifting it up until the locking tabs are free of the floor console. Disconnect the transmission range indicator bezel wire connector located on the underside of the bezel. Next, remove the screws next to the floor shifter and in the console storage compartment that attach the floor console to the brackets on the floor pan. Disconnect the wire connector for the floor console accessories at the floor pan and then remove the console from the vehicle, ensuring that the grip portion of the parking brake lever will fit through the wider lower portion of the slot in the floor console. For installation, place the floor console in position and connect the wire connector for the floor console accessories at the floor pan. Verify that the rear locator pin on the bottom of the storage bin is engaged with the slot in the body bracket and that the front pin is engaged with the shift mechanism. Install the screws next to the floor shifter and in the console storage compartment to secure the floor console to the brackets on the floor pan. Connect the transmission range indicator bezel wire connector on the underside of the bezel and install the transmission range indicator bezel by aligning the alignment pins with the holes in the console, applying downward pressure until the locking tabs snap into position. Finally, install the shift lever knob and tighten the set screw on the front of the shifter knob.
