To start, open the hood and disconnect the negative
Battery Cable remote terminal from the remote battery post. It is very important to detach and isolate the battery negative cable before fixing or working on any seat or power seat piece in cars with side air bags. Unplug your battery and give the car two minutes after disconnecting to allow the system capacitor to discharge and make sure the air bags are disabled. Then, take off the side shield from the seat cushion on any Model S and on hardtop models gently remove all knobs from the seat switch. Take out the attaching screws from the switch and remove the switch from the cushion side shield. Attach the switch in its proper place, use screws to secure it, add back the seat cushion knobs if you have them, set up the electrical connector wire on the switch and finish by reinstalling the side shield. With the battery on, bring the free end of the negative cable up to the remote battery post and attach it.
