How to Install a Fuel Level Sensor in Gas Engines on Chrysler Sebring?

To add the fuel level sensor to a gas engine (on a non FFV vehicle), place the sensor wires into the open hole at the base of the module, then wrap them around the groove at the back of the sensor. As you feed the wire into the guide grooves, increase the level sensor's height inside the channel and Snap the sensor into place at the top, as the tab on the bottom is supposed to lock. After that, push the level sensor wires up through the connector and pull them gently down until they are locked in place, checking the placement of the signal and ground wires. Afterward, add the locking wedge to the connector and push the connector all the way up into the bottom of the rain sensing fuel pump module while you hold the body of the module in place during installation.

How to Service a Fuel Level Sensor on Chrysler Sebring?

The first step to servicing the fuel level sensor is taking out the fuel pump module. Depress the root of the small tab next to the connector to disconnect the fuel pump/fuel level sensor connector from the fuel pump module electrical connector. Following that, remove the locking wedge from the bolt. Open the black connector with a little screwdriver and carefully lift out the locking finger, then pull the fuel level sensor, ground, signal, and ground terminals from within the connector. After that, put the locking wedge on the connector and push the connector up firmly into the bottom of the pump module's electrical connector. Once that's done, reinstall the fuel pump module.
