How to Remove and Replace an Intake Manifold on Chrysler Sebring?

Before you replace the intake manifold, make sure to release your vehicle's fuel system pressure and do the work where there is plenty of fresh air and no spark sources. Remove the engine cover as your first step. After that, remove the wire for the negative battery terminal and remove the air cleaner housing. Remove the fuel line at the rail and then take out the fuel injector electrical connectors. Grip the fuel rail with one hand and take out its retaining bolts with the other. Locate the oil temperature sensor, the variable valve timing solenoid electrical connector and the intake camshaft position sensor electrical connector, then pull them away and position the harness so they are not troubling the engine. Depend the throttle body support bracket and take out the electronic throttle control electrical connector. Pull out the wiring harness retainer from where it's connected to the intake and next, unplug the electrical connector for the MAP sensor and disconnect the vacuum lines. After that, remove the bolts securing the intake manifold and take it out.

How to Install an Intake Manifold on Chrysler Sebring?

You should wash the gasket surfaces and set a new OEM gasket on the intake manifold to start with. After that, put in the intake manifold and tighten the bolts with 25 Nm (220 in. lbs.) of torque. Now, secure the fuel rail assembly to the intake manifold and tighten the bolts to 23 Nm which is equal to 200 in. lbs. Join the electrical connectors that link to the fuel injector (4) and then check the quick connect fittings for problems and change them as needed. Following that, attach the fuel supply hose (3) to the fuel rail assembly and make sure it is secure by pulling on the connector. Set the air cleaner housing into place (1) and link the negative battery cable to the passenger compartment again (1). Bring the cooling system to the correct level, start the engine and look for any leaking. Only then install the engine cover.
