The first thing to do is unhook the battery's negative wire when swapping out the exhaust manifold. After that, take out the wiper module and cut off the spark plug wires. How to Properly Install an Exhaust Manifold on Chrysler Town & Country?

Slide the exhaust manifold over the cylinder head, bolting it to the center runner at cylinder #3 until tightness of 2.8 Nm (25 in. lbs.) is reached. Replace the gasket and connect the crossover pipe to the exhaust manifold. Then, tighten the bolts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.), checking any heat or corrosion damage on the fasteners. If the fasteners are damaged, please use new ones from the manufacturer because they have special stainless steel alloy. After that, install the remaining manifold attaching bolts and make sure all are tightened to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Slide the support strut into place and after that, add the upper bolt and connect the heat shield with the screws. Connect the upstream oxygen sensor and then raise the car. Use a new gasket and tighten the bolts on the catalytic converter pipe to the exhaust manifold at 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.). Attach the downstream oxygen sensor connector, secure the lower bolt under the power steering pump support strut, set the splash guard in place and drop the vehicle to the ground. After that, attach the wiper module and link the battery negative cable as well.
