If there is a manufacturer's identification mark, be sure it's positioned so the top of the
Piston is facing up. Follow this arrangement for installation: oil ring expander, upper oil ring side rail, lower oil ring side rail, No. 2 intermediate piston ring and No. 1 upper piston ring. To put in the side rail, hold one side between the ring groove and the expander, press down steadily and ensure it's in position, instead of using a piston ring expander. The upper side rail goes in first, then the lower side rail is installed. After that, fit the No. 2 piston ring and then secure the No. 1 piston ring. Adjust the piston ring gaps as directed and always place the oil ring expander gap at least 45° from the side rail gaps, never allowing it to interfere with the piston pin or in the direction the piston moves, since adjusting the ring gaps wisely improves oil control.
