First, take out the clamp and remove the connection between the catalytic converter and the muffler/resonator assembly. After that, remove the downstream oxygen sensor electrical cable connector and take out the bolts or screws that mount the catalytic converter to the manifold. Make sure to remove the catalytic converter together with its gasket. Be sure to wait for the exhaust system to cool before inspecting the catalytic converter, since it runs hot.
