Dodge Avenger Spoiler Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install the Spoiler Without Ruining the Surprise on Dodge Avenger?
    A:
Eliminate possible contaminants by applying 3M™ adhesion promoter (Part No. 06396) to the tape's areas onboard and near both edges of the spoiler attaching area that hug the "hider lip." Take two strips of 3M™ acrylic plus attachment tape, 3M p/n 06384, cut each at 1330mm (52.4 in.). Lift up one side of the backing paper from an attachment tape and glue that side onto the spoiler near the top, but not directly against the "hider lip." Continue to repeat the steps for the bottom of the spoiler as well. Firmly press either a hard rubber roller or your hands on the tape to attach it to the spoiler. Using application temperatures below 60°F (16°C) should be avoided; if needed, use a heat gun to raise the surface temperature to between 60°F and 110°F (16°C and 43°C). Dry the vehicle from condensation, do not touch the sticky part of the tape, avoid applying new tape on top of old tape or residue and preferably don't use an adhesion promoter. Tear off a piece of the backing paper from both pieces of tape that are on the driver's side of the spoiler. Bring the end of the spoiler to touch the area 5mm (3/16 in.) from the last edge of the deck lid, sitting above the edge of the corner radius. Place the tape so the lower edges of the spoiler are lined up with the upper character line, move from the driver's side to the passenger side and gradually remove the rest of the backing paper. Using strong hand pressure, run the tape along the spoiler edge to guarantee it sticks properly. After that, put the nuts on and tighten them to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
