Before taking out and installing the axle beam, raise the vehicle with supports in place. Remove all the nuts holding the wheel assembly to the wheel mounts and take out the rear tire and wheel on both sides. Remove the left rear parking brake cable by detaching the screw attached to the trail arm and the right rear cable by taking out the screw on the axle's front. Removing the screw that holds the parking brake cable routing bracket to the axle follows, then take the two bolts holding the disc brake caliper and adapter bracket to the axle. Take out the disc brake caliper and adapter bracket as a single piece and hang it somewhere it won't cause extra tension on the brake hose. With any holding clips removed, slide the brake rotor over the hub and bearing off the axle. Lift up the clip from the axle that holds the wheel speed sensor, clear any contaminants around the sensor and then lose the screw connecting the sensor head to the hub and bearing. Remove the wheel speed sensor from beneath the car, as well as the bolts holding on the hub and bearing to the axle and take out the hub, bearing and its associated brake shield. Set a transmission jack below the center of the axle to hold it up and next, unbolt the track bar from the axle. Unlock the bolts and nuts securing the shock absorber to the vehicle's axle on the wheel side, turn the jack lever until the car clears the coils and then remove both coil springs, jounce bumpers and lower isolators. Now, remove the axle by removing the nut and thru-bolt on the part where the axle trailing arm attaches to the forward mounting bracket on the body, let down the jack and you're done.
