Do not service a steering column that has an air bag until you follow the right and safe servicing procedures. First, push the hood lock and open the hood, then detach the negative battery cable. Take out the upper and lower shroud coverings and next, disconnect the wire from the back of the turn signal multi-function switch. After that, remove the bolts holding the turn signal switch to the steering column adapter collar and pull out the switch. For installation, flip the removal instructions and make sure the switch works by placing the control stalk either to the left or right, while spinning the steering wheel to confirm the switch will automatically cancel.
