Make sure to remove the fuel system pressure first and remove the negative battery cable before doing any repairs on the fuel rail. Remove the wires from the
Fuel Injectors by taking apart the wiring connectors and get the wiring harness off the brackets. Removal of the fuel lines shouldn't be necessary. Pull out the fuel hose quick connect from the chassis tube, put a shop towel underneath where the hoses attach and use another shop towel to wrap around the hoses just in case fuel is spilled. Then, take out the fuel rail attaching bolts and gently remove the fuel rail, so you do not harm the O-rings of the injectors. Clean the injector holes and change broken O-rings when you are installing. Oil each injector O-ring with clean engine oil, then push the tip of each injector in its corresponding hole and seat it. After putting the fuel rail mounting bolts in, tighten them to 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.) torque. Attach the connectors to the fuel injectors, secure the wiring harness to the brackets and link the wiring connectors back to the fuel injectors. After that, hook back the negative battery cable and use the Drbiii scan tool to apply pressure to the fuel system.
