Whenever you change
Throttle Body parts, put in fresh O-rings and seals wherever possible, then avoid using lubricants on them; if assembling is tough, use water to help. Start by taking out the negative cable from the battery, release the wire from the idle air control motor, take out the screws holding the motor to the throttle body and make sure to pull out the O-rings with the motor. The new idle air control motor arrives with its own O-ring; if you find that the pintle is larger than 1 inch (25 mm), use the DRB Idle Air Control Motor Open/Close Test, with the battery attached, to retract it. Position the idle air control motor in the throttle body, screw it in and tighten the screws down to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Afterward, join the idle electronic connector to the motor and reattach the ground cable to the battery.
