First, unconnect the battery cables, remove the battery shield and take out the battery before handling the gear shift cable. Now, take out the speed control servo and place it somewhere where it won't get in the way. Take the gear shift cable off of the manual valve lever and from the upper bracket where it is attached. Eliminate both the instrument panel lower silencer and the knee bolster. Pull out the gear shift cable from the gear shift lever and take it out of the column bracket. Untie the grommet from the dash so you can pull out the gear shift cable. To install, tuck the gear shift cable behind the panel and thread it into the recognizable spot in the engine. Move the gear shift cable through the column bracket so you hear a click and then link it to the gear shift lever. Place the knee bolster and the lower silencer inside the instrument panel. Fit the gear shift cable to the bracket on the upper part of the transaxle and when you hear a "click," link the cable's other end to the transaxle manual lever. Adjust the shift cable, after which you should reinstall the speed control servo, battery and battery shield and link all battery cables.
