In Dodge Charger models, different styles of Brake Light Switch have been used throughout the years though there is no explanation of that different between these types. Regardless of the style, the primary goal remains consistent: so that the brake lights will be switched on timely in accordance with the operation of a driver. The Brake Light Switch is important to its proper functioning for enhancing light visibility and promoting communication on the road.

Dodge Charger Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace a Brake Light Switch on Dodge Charger?
    A:
To install the brake light switch, press the plunger all the way out by holding the switch and carefully pulling on the plunger until it will not go farther. After that, link the wiring harness connector (1) with the stop lamp switch (2). Put the stop lamp switch into the bracket attached to the brake pedal (6) by pushing the brake pedal down to its end, matching the index key of the switch with the notch in the hole on the bracket's square end and turning it clockwise by 30 degrees so it locks into place. Pulling back too forcefully on the brake pedal may damage the stop lamp switch or striker, so use caution. There is a little piece that clicks when the switch is proper. Continue until it clicks and stays put. Test to see that the brake lamps and speed controls are functioning correctly.
