Before you service or repair the starter motor on a 2.7L engine, remove the negative
Battery Cable. After that, attach a steering wheel holder to hold the steering wheel in the middle position. Lift up the vehicle, then remove the underbody splash shield. Proceed to putting on the starter and remove the intermediate steering shaft center bolt. After taking off the bolt, part the upper and lower sections of the intermediate steering shaft. Remove the link between the starter and the electrical, then take out the three bolts that hold the starter and the wiring clip. Pull the starter toward you and down, curve it up and around the exhaust and slip it past the intermediate steering shaft, then take it out of the car.
