For driveshaft center support bearing servicing, first disconnect the rear propeller shaft and open the joint boot clamp to unite the two half-shafts and support them the propeller shaft runs. Tap at the connection between the slinger and the shaft with your hammer and punch to move the slinger away for the Bearing Splitter Tool 1130 to fit. Try not to harm the shaft's spline removing the bearings; once you have the driveshaft center support bearing out, place the whole shaft in a press and press off one side. The first step in installing is to insert a new slinger onto the shaft, using the proper installing device. Then, put in a new driveshaft center support bearing on the shaft using Bearing Installer Tool 6052, driving it on with a hammer till it is completely in place. After cleaning the shaft splines, put on a coat of multipurpose grease and move the master splines into place while attaching the respective half-shafts. Set the slip yoke boot back in place and then use a new clamp before securing the propeller shaft in the vehicle.
