Checking the cable core wire to see if it is not bent or damaged before servicing the throttle will help you ensure everything goes well. Inside the car, apply the gas pedal and remove the plastic clip and core wire at the upper end of the arm attached to the pedal. After that, squeeze both ends of the cable housing retainer at the dash panel to free the cable housing and move it into the engine compartment. Cut the air tube at the top of the
Throttle Body and take out the cable ball socket from the throttle body linkage. Pinching the sides of the cable housing clips on the mounting bracket lets you unsnap the cable housing at the valve cover retainer, so you can then remove the cable from the car. After threading the cable housing through the back of the mounting bracket, press the housing so it locks in place. Secure the ball socket onto the end of the throttle body linkage and fixing the cable housing on the valve cover retainer. Snap the other side of the cable housing into the opening in the dash panel. Guide the ball end of the wire cable into the hole of the pedal arm throughout the arm and clip the plastic retainer in place, lining up the index slot on the retainer with the index tab on the arm. Check how the throttle works without the engine first, attach the air tube to the throttle body when done.
