Before any repair or service of the auxiliary water pump, take off the negative battery cable and drain all fluid from the engine cooling system. Grip a hose clamp between the jaws of the spring tension pliers and pull it away from the heater hose, then roll back and forth to free the hose from the auxiliary water pump tube. Detach the auxiliary water pump from its bracket on the right front frame rail and cut the wire connector off before bringing the pump out of the engine compartment. Hold the auxiliary water pump in place and join the harness connector to it in the engine bay. Install the pump into its mounting bracket on the frame rail, then use spring tension clamp pliers to remove and slide the heater hose clamp away from its place. Install the air cleaner housing, fill the cooler lines with coolant and link the negative battery cable back.
