Before servicing or repairing the heater core, first drain the coolant out of the system. After that, take out the left side lower column cover and the steering column assembly. Separately, remove the B/P to body harness interconnect and bracket and afterward, the lower silencer boot at the foot of the steering shaft. Pinch off both the heater lines in the engine compartment and remove the heater cover. Then, place towels underneath the heater core tubes before removing the heater core plate and tubes. Fit the foam seal onto the front of the HVAC cover, next affix the A/C expansion valve and lastly, place the HVAC cover on.
